Music Player - Android
Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Effective date: September 8, 2026
This page is both the privacy policy and the terms of use of the music player application (“the app”, “we”, “our”), published by Tomáš Huml, IČO 23925230, Dukelská 418, 769 01 Holešov, Czech Republic.
By installing or using the app you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
What the app is - and what it is not
The app is a player, not a content service. This distinction matters, so to be explicit:
- The app does not host, store, index, stream or supply any music.
- The app contains no catalogue of music and no search of third-party music sources.
- The app plays only audio files already present on your own device, which you put there yourself.
- The app does not download or stream audio from the internet, and does not remove, bypass or circumvent any digital rights management (DRM) or technical protection measure.
We have no knowledge of, and no technical means to inspect, which files you choose to play. Your audio files are never uploaded anywhere.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the files you play through the app. By using it you confirm that:
- you own the files or otherwise hold the rights or licence needed to play them;
- your use is private and permitted by the law that applies to you;
- you will not use the app to reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, broadcast or otherwise make available any content without the rights holder’s authorisation;
- you will not combine the app with tools that circumvent technical protection measures or that obtain content from unauthorised sources.
Any such use breaches these terms and is entirely at your own risk and responsibility. We do not authorise, encourage or facilitate it in any way.
Copyright and reports
We respect copyright and we act on justified reports.
If you are a rights holder or an authorised representative and believe the app itself infringes your rights, write to tommy.huml.holesov@gmail.com with a description of the work, the nature of the infringement and proof of your authorisation. We review every complete report and respond without undue delay.
Please note the app hosts no content, so there is no recording we could take down – files played through it exist only on the device of the person who put them there.
Information we collect
On your device only. The app stores locally, and never sends anywhere:
- your playlists, playback position and playback settings (volume, equaliser, repeat mode);
- metadata read from your own audio files (title, artist, album, cover art), so the library can be displayed and searched.
Sent to Google. The app uses Firebase, so the following leaves your device:
- Google Analytics for Firebase – how the app is used: screens opened, features used, session length and frequency, app version, device model, operating system version, language, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. It also uses an app-instance identifier, which is a pseudonymous identifier tied to your installation.
- Firebase Crashlytics – when the app crashes: the stack trace, the state of the device at that moment (model, operating system, available memory and storage), and a Crashlytics installation identifier.
We use this to see which features people actually use and to find and fix crashes. We do not receive the names of your files, your playlists, or what you listen to.
Why we may process it, and your rights
Under the GDPR, the processing described above rests on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the app working and free of defects. The data is pseudonymous, limited to what diagnostics require, and is not used for advertising or profiling.
You can object. If you do not want analytics and crash reporting, write to tommy.huml.holesov@gmail.com and we will tell you how to turn it off, or you can simply uninstall the app. You also have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction, and the right to complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz).
Third-party services
Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics are operated by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, which act as our processors and handle the data under their own terms. This can involve transfer outside the European Economic Area, which Google covers by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
What Firebase collects: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Apart from Google, no third party receives any data from the app.
Permissions the app requests
The app requests only the permissions it needs:
- Access to audio files on the device – to find and play your music. Used for nothing else, and the files never leave your device.
- Playback notification and media controls – so you can pause or skip from the lock screen.
- Internet access – used solely to send the analytics and crash reports described above.
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, messages or call history.
Data we don’t collect
To be clear about what does not happen:
- no account registration and no login credentials of any kind;
- we never receive your name, e-mail address or phone number;
- your audio files, file names and playlists are never uploaded;
- no advertising and no advertising identifier;
- no profiling, and your data is never sold or shared for anyone else’s marketing.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed to appeal primarily to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you want the associated diagnostic data removed, write to tommy.huml.holesov@gmail.com and we will arrange it.
Data retention & deletion
On your device: playlists and settings stay for as long as the app is installed. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it removes them permanently. Your own audio files are untouched – the app never deletes them.
At Google: analytics data is retained for the period set in our Firebase project (a maximum of 14 months for user-level data) and crash reports for up to 90 days, after which Google deletes them automatically. To have data tied to your installation deleted sooner, contact us at tommy.huml.holesov@gmail.com.
Disclaimer, liability and governing law
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, and in particular not for the consequences of playing files you were not entitled to play.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Czech courts, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules provide otherwise.
Changes to this page
If this page changes, we will update the effective date above. For material changes we will also note it in the app’s release notes.
